PATIENT RIGHTS

The rights of the hospital patient (Law 2071/92, Government Gazette 123/92, no, 'Article 47)

1. The patient has the right of access to the services of the hospital, the most appropriate about his illness.

2. The patient has the right to the provision of care to him with the due respect for his human dignity. This care includes not only the general practice of medicine and the nursing, but also the paramedical services, the appropriate accommodation, appropriate treatment and effective administrative and technical service.

3.The patient has the right to consent to or refuse any a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure to be carried out on him/her. In the case of a patient with partial or total mental incapacity, the the exercise of this right shall be made by the person who, by law acting on its behalf .

4.The patient has the right to request information concerning his condition.

5.The patient's interest is crucial and depends on the patient's the completeness and accuracy of the information given to him/her. The information to the patient should allow him to form a complete picture of the medical, social and economic aspects of situation and to take decisions himself or herself or to participate in the making decisions that may prejudice his or her later life.

6.The patient or his/her representative in case of application of par. 3, has the Right to be informed, in full and in advance, about the risks that may occur or arise as a result of the application to him of unusual or experimental diagnostic and therapeutic operations. The application of these operations to the patient takes place only with his or her specific consent. Η this consent can be withdrawn by the patient at any time.

7. The patient should feel completely free to make a decision, to accept or reject any cooperation with the purpose of research or education. His/her consent for any participation is right and may be revoked at any time.

8.The patient has the right to the measure and the actual circumstances as far as possible, to protect his privacy. The secret the nature of the information and the content of the documents of the file of medical notes and findings, must be is guaranteed .

9.The patient has the right to respect and recognition in him or her of his or her religious and ideological beliefs.

10.The patient shall have the right to present or lodge with the competent authority protests and objections and to take full cognisance of the information actions and results .


PATIENT OBLIGATIONS

1.The patient has an obligation to inform the medical and nursing staff for any medication he was taking before his admission to the Hospital and cooperate honestly.

2. For any complaint, the patient and relatives should contact and to the Citizen's Contact Office operating within the Hospital.

3.The stay of relatives and friends in the wards should be short and not crowded, and avoid carrying with you children.

4. Escorts remaining in the wards on special leave, must take care in maintaining cleanliness. Do not sit in the beds of the patients, not to put flowers in the wards and not to keep food, soft drinks and coffee, because they turn into microbial foci.

5. The escorts and visitors should not make noise, because the patients need peace and quiet .

6. Do not bring valuable items and large sums of money with you amounts.

7. Be punctual to the appointments you have made and do not leave the wards without permission.

8. Always have your health booklet, and insurance, examinations you may have done in the past and any relevant documents ( information sheet, instructions, etc. ).

9.If you are insured or have a health insurance booklet, your hospitalisation is covered by your health insurance fund or the State .

10.If you are uninsured, you pay the cost of your hospital stay, directly and only to the Inpatient Accounting Department, which provides you with the relevant proof.

11. It is forbidden for visitors to enter the hospital with car or other means of transport.

12.Remuneration to any person and for any reason is illegal and offensive to the workers themselves .

13. Patients and their escorts, on admission, must necessarily give their details and the information they have are requested from medical and nursing staff.

14. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas of the Hospital.
